Position Summary

The Business Development Manager drives new business for Lexus of Montgomery by building relationships outside the dealership walls. This role owns outbound prospecting, community partnerships, and account-based selling, working leads and referral sources that aren’t generated by traffic through the front door of the store. The right person is a self-starter who is confident in producing sales results, not hours logged at a desk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new vehicle sales through outside prospecting, referral networks, local business partnerships, and community involvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, explore fleet opportunities, and community organizations to create a consistent referral pipeline.
  • Represent Lexus of Montgomery at events, sponsorships, and extended community engagements.
  • Generate leads through phone, text, email, and in person visits, moving prospects toward an appointment.
  • Maintain accurate and current records in DriveCentric CRM for every prospect and account, logging activity daily.
  • Partner with the sales teams to hand off qualified appointments smoothly.
  • Track personal pipeline against monthly targets and report progress to the Sales Manager.
  • Stay current on Lexus products, incentives, and competitive positioning to speak credibly with prospects.
  • Obtain and maintain Lexus Sales Certification through Lexus Learn in Dealer Daily.
  • Uphold the company's brand standards and customer experience expectations in every interaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in business or marketing a plus.
  • Prior outside sales, business development, or account management experience preferred.
  • Automotive sales experience is a plus but not required for the right relationship builder.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own daily schedule and route.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional, polished presence with clients.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems, or the ability to learn DriveCentric quickly.
