Job description

Job Title: Senior Accountant  

Job Summary: 

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the plant maintains an adequatesystem of accounting records that comply with generally accepted accounting principles and be responsible foraccounting, month-end reporting and financial analysis. 

Responsibility: 

  • Ensure month-end close procedures are completed in accordance with established reporting timelines 

  • Review transactions for proper accounting treatment and perform detailed account reviews and reconciliations to support balances 

  • Evaluate general ledger account usage and ensure transactions are recorded according to company policy 

  • Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded accurately and all intercompany accounts are balanced at month-end 

  • Collaborate with the shared service team to resolve discrepancies with accounts payable and receivable 

  • Track cash flow timing for customer-owned tooling projects and capital expenditures 

  • Maintain fixed asset and CIP records, including roll-forward reconciliation of additions, disposals and transfers 

  • Compile and organize data for daily and weekly KPI reporting 

  • Provide support and coordination of various audit requests 

  • Prepare weekly payroll entries and reconcile 

  • Prepare, upload and post other journal entries as needed 

  • Prepare Sales and Use Tax and other regulatory filings 

  • Conduct periodic ad-hoc analyses and special projects 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Academic/Educational Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or another business-related field 

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting and finance 

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP with previous experience as an Accountant, Cost Accountant, Financial Analyst or similar role in in a manufacturing environment highly preferred. 

  • High degree of attention to detail 

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills especially MS Excel 

  • Experience with ERP's; Plex experience preferred but not required
