JOB SUMMARY

The Assessment Manager position reports to the Director of Assessment & Educational Technology and is accountable for the facilitation and data analysis of school-wide assessments. These assessments include the CASAS, CAASPP, GED, and HiSET exams. The Assessment Manager will work closely with the Assessment team, teachers and students to collect, analyze, interpret and present data to the management team on a monthly basis or upon request of management. This position will: maintain a school wide testing schedule, import and export data into the School Information System (SIS), create databases of student assessment records, maintain compliance in school/state/federal laws surrounding assessment, analyze and interpret student data to determine schools meeting of WASC and WIOA goals, act as the Five Keys liaison to community testing sites for all high school equivalency exams offered, maintain licensing for online assessment tools, troubleshoot issues with online assessments, maintain students assessment records for Five Keys students. Conduct staff training regarding various assessments.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stay current with state and federal assessment laws as well as updates on alternative education and high school equivalency exams
  • Provide professional develop to teachers and school staff on the assessments, differentiation, different high school equivalency tests
  • Ensure school is meeting WASC and WIOA goals by scheduling and facilitating school-wide CASAS tests every 10 weeks to measure student progress, analyzing CAASPP and high school equivalency pass rate, etc.
  • Ensure all students are assessed prior to program participation through collaboration with assistant directors
  • Utilize SIS reports to identify students missing assessments and execute effective plans to assess such students
  • Monitor OASIS for errors, completeness and report / rectify any problems
  • Administer testing required for the site, including CASAS tests for incoming students, CAHSEE tests and all high school equivalency exams
  • Utilizing reports in the SIS (OASIS), identify students eligible for CAASPP, GED, and HiSET exams
  • Work with Assistant Directors to troubleshoot assessment schedules for each school site
  • Enter and update student test scores into the SIS (OASIS) upon retrieval of results
  • Implement guidelines to ensure integrity of student assessment and performance goal reports
  • Train exam proctors and ensure that testing protocols are being followed
  • Participate in clear communication between students, teachers, administration and custody staff
  • Coordinate high school equivalency exam testing locations, dates and funds for eligible testing participants in the community sites
  • Coach teachers on assigning appropriate work to students and making data driven decisions
  • Coordinating logistics of assessment administration and proactively communicating roles and responsibility
  • Assisting in the development of assessments for independent study program curriculum
  • Milestone or other data reports to Los Angeles Sheriffs Department or other community partners
  • Provide guidance to ensure the timely pre-testing of enrolled students
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Assessment to ensure school wide accuracy with summative and statewide assessments
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Must be extremely skilled in Microsoft Office, phone, internet and email, and be able to learn and use SIS.
  • Ability to maintain strong and appropriate boundaries with personal identifying information when interacting with students or community or program partners, and while at any school location or community or program partner site
  • Ability to set goals and develop systems for data tracking progress towards goals

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A masters degree in education or data analysis, teaching credential or 3-5 years of teaching experience OR
  • Assessment experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • To promote the health and safety of its employees, those we serve and our local communities, Five Keys requires that all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or adhere to all weekly testing and safety measures. Employees may also request and receive approval for an exemption from this policy. Exemptions are granted to accommodate a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
  • Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
  • Frequent and prolonged standing, walking, and sitting
  • Long periods of walking, sitting at a desk and/or computer station
  • Lifting items that weigh up to 25 lbs.; reaching, bending, carrying and stooping within the daily routine of tasks and activities

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is contingent upon:

  • Satisfactory results of a Live Scan (criminal background investigation)
  • Successfully obtaining jail clearance for positions working in county jails or probation locations
  • Submitting proof of clear TB results. Results dated within 60 days prior to hire date are acceptable

  • Work environment varies from site to site
  • Some personal safety risk working in underserved communities
  • Must be willing and able to travel state-wide to various locations or meetings as needed
