The right candidate is a self-starter and is interested in pursuing a long-term career in the fiduciary The Trust Company of Vermont is seeking a Trust Officer for our Burlington office. The right candidate is a self-starter and is interested in pursuing a long-term career in the fiduciary industry. This position will be responsible for providing a high level of care to our clients, while working closely with the TCV team to ensure needs are being met. A qualified candidate must be highly organized, well-spoken, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.

Job Location: Colchester, VT

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Handle ongoing day to day administration of accounts including maintaining internal databases,
  • Trust Administration Committee requests and reviewingdaily transactions.
  • Manage complex relationships and assist in analysis and development of solutions across estate, tax, and financial planning.
  • Serve as an additional point of contact for existing clients, responding to requests and questions that arise.
  • Process distributions and ensures client’s needs are being met
  • Be or become proficient with eMoney financial planning software to create financial and estate plans and projections for clients as well as present the strategies to clients.
  • Work collaboratively with both internal employees and gatekeepers and overseeing the implementation of recommendations.
  • Review accounts to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Review processes/procedures to help with efficiencies and workflow.
  • Continue to gain knowledge in specialized areas including taxes, trust administration, financial planning and estate planning. Mentor others in the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Highly organized with great interpersonal skills and the ability to meet time constraints in a high demand environment.
  • Experience with financial, legal or tax transactions preferred
  • Analytical expertise, high degree of accuracy with attention to detail required.
  • Ability to meet time constraints without constant supervision.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in dealing with customers and employees.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and high reputation in local community.
  • Team player, willing to jump in wherever our growing company needs help.
  • Strong computer skills, including financial software, CRM, Excel and PowerPoint.
