Job description

Self-Determined Recovery, LLC (SDR) helps save lives by providing community-based, behavioral health services and housing for single individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorder.

How you will partner with our Participants. 
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides activities and individualized services for the outpatient program, designed to assist adult and adolescent consumers with recovery methods and maintenance.
 Responsibilities
● Implement structured interventions outlined in the Person-Centered Plan.
● Provide first-responder crisis response.
● Research and propose natural and community support for persons served.
● Provide support services in a manner that is safe, therapeutic, and free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
● Case Management responsibilities (If assigned and monitored by Clinical Director).
● Submit completed discharge date to the Medical Records Specialist for processing and filing.
● Ensure case management, supervision, and service notes are completed in a manner consistent with Federal, State, and the Agency’s, statutes, rules, and policies and procedures
● Maintain consistent communication with the Program Director regarding documentation, authorizations, consumer progress toward goals, and consumer satisfaction.

Qualifications
Substance Abuse Board licensure or certification.
● Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists;
● Approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or
● Licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment.

Preferred Experience
● One or more years of clinical experience.
● Experience with and knowledge of the public MH/DD/SA system.
