Funding Specialist
Department: Credit Operations (US)
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Atlanta
Reporting To: Hunter Encapera
Compensation: $50,000 / year
Description
As a Funding Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient funding process for our merchants. Working closely with Sales and Operations teams, you will review merchant applications, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate funding activities from approval through to disbursement.
Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities will help deliver an exceptional customer experience while supporting business growth
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's products, financing solutions, funding processes, and partner ecosystem to effectively support merchant funding.
  • Review approved funding applications and verify all required documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Analyse merchant financial information, including bank statements and supporting documentation, to validate funding requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Underwriting, and Operations teams to resolve outstanding conditions and facilitate timely funding.
  • Monitor funding pipelines and proactively manage a high volume of cases while meeting service level agreements.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to provide updates and resolve funding-related enquiries.
  • Ensure all funding activities are completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and the overall customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and internal funding systems.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.

  • Previous experience in funding, financial services, banking, lending, or operations is preferred but not essential. Experience working in a fast-paced financial services or fintech environment.
