ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Promotes and enhances image of First Federal in all business and mortgage activities within our markets.
  • Prospects for new business and retail customers and develops new relationships.
  • Serve as a small business "consultant" with no managerial liability.
  • Serve as relationship manager to all new and inherited small business customers.
  • Assists business manager in product development and service delivery to ensure superior customer satisfaction and bank profitability.
  • Assists business manager in meeting the requests of the bank's most profitable customers.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and communicates customer information to assist in the development and processing of commercial, residential and consumer lending opportunities.
  • Correspond with customers and applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Identify and recommend changes to the Bank's mortgage loan programs to better assist residents in obtaining credit in the bank's deposit accepting markets, particularly those residing in MMCTs.
  • Partner with community-based or governmental organizations that provide the residents of MMCTs with services related to credit, financial education, homeownership, and foreclosure prevention.
  • Originate residential loans via the bank's portfolio loan products across the bank's deposit accepting footprint both directly and as referrals.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Participate with the President of the Residential Division, the Chief Lending Officer and the Director of Community Banking in the development of the Strategic Marketing and Sales Plan, particularly in MMCTs.
  • Interview residential mortgage loan applicants. Recommend and outline terms of loan. Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments.
  • Review developing laws and regulations as they apply to installment loan security agreements.
  • Assist collection officer with delinquent account files for the financial institution.
  • Responsible for quality loan growth.
  • Officer cannot, directly or indirectly, commit First Federal on any lending decisions.
  • Possess the capability to implement/install the bank's computer software systems that will enhance customer's relationship.
  • Provides the best service to our customers with innovative and creative solutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of five years' experience with proven results on developing a business strategy and successful execution of a plan.
  • Bachelor's degree in business finance, or related field or 5 years banking experience.
  • Financial sales capability.
  • Knowledge of mortgage products, its market and economy trends.
  • Thrive for high service and quality standards.
  • Excellence in working within regulatory framework is a must.
  • Proven knowledge on regulations (federal and state) applicable to mortgage and banking law.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Good cross selling, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with builders and realtors.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels within the organization, with external business and community sectors.
  • Capable of maintaining a professional presence with emphasis on professionalism, personal and ethical growth.
  • Highly organized and demonstrated prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication, public relations skills, computer and research skills.
  • Ability to deal with time constraints and strong attention to detail.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Extended hours sitting and performing computer tasks may be required.
  • Loan Originators are required to have a confirmed NMLS# with First Federal Bank before originating residential mortgage loans and maintain their NMLS# in an active status for the duration of employment.
