Job description

Christian Academy of Laurel (formerly First Baptist School of Laurel), located in Laurel, MD, serves students in PreK through 8th grade. Our mission is to partner with parents in pointing their children to Jesus as Savior and preparing them to reach adulthood with the spiritual and intellectual competence needed to impact their culture for Christ.

Christian Academy of Laurel is searching for a full time PE teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher is responsible for teaching PE classes to all grade levels (PK3 through 8th grade). Additionally, since CAL is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Laurel, applicants will be theologically examined to ensure alignment with the faith and practices of FBCL.

Job Responsibilities:

-Instruct students on the basic techniques needed to play team sports and other recreational activities

-Organize activities that promote physical fitness and social skills

-Incorporate technology into the curriculum, possibly with distance learning, if required

- Attend parent meetings as needed

- Attend all faculty and elementary staff meetings

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree, preferably in an education-related field

- Experience teaching students in elementary or middle school is preferred.
