We work with contractors, building owners, and consulting engineers to provide all the technologies needed for the most advanced, efficient, and secure operation of any facility. The Service Sales Specialist – Life Safety and Compliance Systems is responsible for selling preventative maintenance agreements and recurring service solutions for fire alarm and life safety systems to building owners, property managers, facility leaders, and senior decision makers across commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, and institutional facilities. This role focuses on developing long-term customer relationships through the sale of inspection, testing, maintenance, and service agreements that help customers maintain code compliance, improve system reliability, reduce risk, and protect occupants and facilities. The person in this role must be a focused and persistent self-starter who proactively develops opportunities, follows up consistently, prepares proposals, and closes agreements that drive recurring revenue and long-term customer satisfaction. What you'll do: Identify, research, and contact prospective customers to sell recurring preventative maintenance agreements, inspections, testing services, troubleshooting support, and repair programs for fire alarm and life safety systems. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers including building owners, facility managers, maintenance teams, property managers, safety leaders, and executive stakeholders. Actively engage prospective customers through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, referrals, site visits, and in-person meetings. Present proposals, negotiate contract terms, and close preventative maintenance agreements, service contracts, inspections, and related life safety service projects. Evaluate customer facilities and identify opportunities for inspections, testing, code compliance improvements, system upgrades, retrofits, and expanded service offerings. Educate customers on regulatory requirements, inspection frequencies, system reliability, risk reduction strategies, and lifecycle planning for fire alarm and life safety systems. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, pipeline status, proposals, and contract activity using systems such as Salesforce and Service Trade. Coordinate with operations, service teams, and technical staff to ensure smooth onboarding, contract execution, and long-term customer satisfaction. Participate in sales training, industry events, trade shows, and professional associations to promote company capabilities and generate new opportunities. Stay informed on industry trends, code updates, regulatory changes, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within fire alarm and life safety systems. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required skills, experience, and knowledge: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, fire protection, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred. Proven business development and sales success within fire alarm systems, life safety services, and low-voltage systems.Strong understanding of preventative maintenance agreements, recurring service models, inspection programs, and project-based solutions. Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, life safety requirements, testing procedures, inspection schedules, and applicable codes and standards preferred. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong relationship building, negotiation, and presentation skills. Self-motivated with the ability to manage a sales pipeline, prioritize activities, and consistently meet or exceed goals. Proficient with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales management tools. Physical Demands: This position requires a combination of office work, customer visits, and routine field interaction at active facilities and project sites. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must maintain a professional appearance and represent the company in customer-facing environments. May be required to satisfy customer, site, project, or safety requirements. Must be able to use laptops, smartphones, tablets, email platforms, and basic hand tools. Must be able to carry and move equipment, samples, and tools weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Pre-hire requirements include a drug test and a background check.
