The Position

Leads financial performance management and strategic decision support for DPM US and serves as a senior Finance advisor to business leadership at Novo Nordisk. The role is accountable for consolidated performance oversight across planning, execution, close, and performance dialogue, translating financial and operational results into insights that support resource allocation and strategic choices. This position strengthens financial governance, forecasting quality, and continuous improvement of reporting and decision-support processes across the organization, with direct linkage to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), business case evaluation, and investment performance discussions.

Relationships

Reports to Director or above. Interacts with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across DPM US and Global Finance at Novo Nordisk.

Essential Functions

  • Act as a trusted Finance advisor and sparring partner to senior leaders on performance, financial outlook, and strategic priorities across DPM US at Novo Nordisk
  • Lead the performance management cycle, including annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning, in close collaboration with Finance and FP&A stakeholders
  • Own and lead the end-to-end performance management cycle for DPM US, covering AB / RE / LE, rolling forecasts, budget and long-range planning
  • Act as the single point of accountability for the consolidated financial performance view of DPM US, ensuring consistency, transparency, and high analytical quality across all units
  • Ensure high-quality performance reporting and decision support materials that translate complex financial and operational results into clear insights
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business performance reviews with senior stakeholders and support robust follow-up on agreed actions
  • Translate financial and operational results into insights, recommendations, and performance dialogue that support resource allocation and business choices
  • Coordinate and lead month-end close and financial consolidation activities for DPM US in line with group reporting requirements
  • Perform advanced variance analysis and identify structural issues, emerging risks, and value opportunities affecting financial performance
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic, operational, and investment decisions across DPM US
  • Lead scenario planning and financial sensitivity analyses related to capacity, financial risk, and business choices
  • Evaluate investments, business cases, and capital allocation decisions from a consolidated DPM US and Novo Nordisk perspective
  • Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, internal controls, and risk management across supported processes and decisions
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven insights, strong business partnering, and constructive financial challenge
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Global Finance stakeholders to ensure alignment of assumptions, reporting, and outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting, forecasting, and performance management processes to strengthen decision support
  • Leverage digital, analytics, and business intelligence tools to improve decision support, transparency, and forecasting quality
  • Build Finance capability and best practices across the organization through collaboration, coaching, and leadership without direct line management
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study from an accredited university required and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within Finance, FP&A, Business Finance, Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering required
  • In lieu of Master's Degree with five (5) years of experience, may consider a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study from an accredited university with a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience within Finance, FP&A, Business Finance, Controlling, or Finance Business Partnering required
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing business decisions required
  • Strong expertise in Financial planning and forecasting, Performance management, Financial modeling and business case development, Investment and portfolio analysis, Management reporting, Cost management and resource allocation required
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities required
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Experience from pharmaceutical, life science, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries preferred
  • Experience supporting complex global organizations and matrix structures preferred
  • Strong understanding of value chain economics and operational finance preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Copilot etc preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives preferred
  • Strong business judgment, integrity, and accountability, with the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic and complex environment required
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across functions required
  • Continuous improvement mindset, agility, and resilience, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results required
