Salary range (but not limited to):

64,100 - 78,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join us in our Intact Insurance Finance team. In this role, you will be the contact point for your assigned region/tasks under your area of expertise. If you are detail oriented, interested in many aspects of the finance function (budget and expense management, month-end processes including journal entries, purchase orders and review of results, etc) and a team player, this may be the right opportunity for you!


This dynamic role will require a balance of technical numerical proficiency, strong relationship building skills, and a good knowledge financial management. You must possess strong organizational skills to lead and produce monthly reports for your areas of responsibility.


You will support the month end and budgeting process. You will have to extract, organize, analyze data from the system and use your power BI skills to improve the presentation of these results. You will be asked to communicate with various business units as needed to find additional information in explaining financial results.

What you'll do here:

  • Process monthly journal entries.
  • Process Purchase orders, follow-up with users and review system generated entry from the procurement system.
  • Review reporting suite and recommend improvement using tools such as power BI.
  • Review expenses and UW results of your assign region and provide gap analysis monthly. This includes:
    • Analysis of monthly claims trends
    • Review actuals result vs. forecast for reasonableness
    • Review expenses and communicate to VP Finance and Regional VP
    • Provide sign-off on UW results
    • Provide comments on growth and profitability of the assigned region
  • Contribute to the budget process for the tasks that will be specifically assigned to you (including working on the budget tool) and act as the key contact for the stakeholders of the regions pertaining to your responsibilities.
  • Participate in special projects or mandates as requested

What you bring to the table:

  • Post secondary education in Finance and Accounting - is required.
  • Working towards a designation: CPA/CFA.
  • Minimum 3-years experience working in a finance and accounting role for a large organisation - is required.
  • Experience in building Power BI reports/query and solid skills Excel, VBA and relational database.
  • Skilled in data extraction / manipulation / synthesizing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Can multitask and handle multiple priorities with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Can interact with people at all levels of the company, including senior management and external partners.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
