Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.

About the role

As a Finance Intern you will gain hands-on experience with financial analysis, planning and reporting in a professional environment.  The intern position is responsible for assigned finance projects and may rotate among the various Finance Organizations in a fast-paced team environment.  The internship will have a hybrid work arrangement and will be required to join us at the Support Center in Plano, Texas on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays each week. **A Final presentation to senior leadership (topic TBD) will be required at the end of internship**.  Our goal is to provide you with an opportunity to grow your skills while providing a meaningful impact to SBH. This is a hybrid role reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West in Plano Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Each finance intern will partner with an experienced finance leader who will serve as a mentor to guide how we conduct business and how tasks are completed.
  • Communicates with business partners and key stakeholders throughout the organization as needed to complete assigned tasks
  • Interns will be assigned several projects giving exposure to different areas of corporate finance and operational support including segment financial analysis, P&L evaluation, close support for operational business partners, financial process documentation and KPI reporting
  • Specific projects can include process mapping to discover opportunities for efficiency, building financial models to support analysis and/or forecasting efforts, or comparing financial performance of key categories and brands
  • Partners with project manager in specific finance area to complete each assigned project
  • Each intern will give an end-of-summer presentation to SBH executives on one of their projects

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • Pursuing a major in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Some knowledge or education in General Ledger software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is a plus

  • Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven Organizational skills
  • Demonstrate ability to use data to understand and analyse complex business problems
  • Effectively communicate financial information to non-financial business partners
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and various levels of management

Working conditions & physical requirements

Tasks include being able to work at a computer for majority of the day and the ability to express ideas via written and spoken words.
