Position: Corporate Controller
Location: Atlanta, GA | Hybrid (2 days in-office)
Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000 base + up to 30% bonus

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Financial Controller to join a growing professional services organization in Atlanta. As a key member of the finance leadership team, this role will oversee all accounting operations, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and build scalable processes to support continued growth. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership, providing critical financial insights, strengthening internal controls, and driving operational efficiency across the finance function.
What You’ll Do
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the full accounting lifecycle while leading a high-performing team and continuously improving systems and processes. Key areas of focus include:
- Financial Reporting & Close
- Lead all general ledger activity, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare timely, accurate consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee cash management and forecasting to ensure strong liquidity
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 (services/technology contracts)
- Accounting Operations Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and GL
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Controls, Audit & Compliance
- Design and maintain a robust internal control environment
- Serve as the primary owner of the annual audit, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely completion
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Systems & Process Optimization
- Evaluate and enhance ERP systems and accounting workflows
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, shorten close cycles, and increase reporting accuracy
- Standardize and document accounting policies and procedures
- Strategic Partnership & Planning
- Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Provide actionable financial insights to support business decisions
- Support the CFO with board reporting, investor materials, and strategic initiatives, including M&A activities
What You Bring
We’re looking for an Executive Finance Leader who can balance technical expertise with strategic thinking in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment:
- Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA (active or inactive; active preferred)
- Experience
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred
- Background in professional services, consulting, or technology services environments
- Experience in mid-market or high-growth companies ($50M–$250M revenue range)
- Exposure to M&A transactions and integration activities
- Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Strong experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Proficiency with ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Unanet, or similar)
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities
