Plant Controller

Who:

Position Overview:

The Plant Controller will play a critical leadership role overseeing all accounting functions within the plant, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting operational decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across financial processes. This individual will act as a key partner to plant leadership while also serving as the primary contact for external audits.


● Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and fixed assets
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain ownership of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and completeness
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and supported

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory processes
  • Ensure accurate accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
  • Support standard costing, variance analysis, and product costing accuracy
  • Partner closely with plant operations to align financial reporting with production activity

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
  • Strong manufacturing experience, including cost and inventory accounting required
  • Experience supporting plant operations strongly preferred
  • ERP experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • CPA preferred
