OVERVIEW

Merrick is seeking aย Compensation Analyst to support compensation analysis and administration. This role is responsible for market pricing, salary structure management, job evaluations, annual compensation planning, reporting, and internal equity analysis. The Compensation Analyst will partner closely with Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and business leaders to help drive consistent, data-informed compensation decisions.

In addition, this position supports benefits and retirement administration, including billing and reconciliation, 401(k), and Merrickโ€™s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and foundational compensation or HR experience who is eager to expand their expertise across the broader Total Rewards function.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Compensation โ€“ approximately 75%

  • Conduct market pricing, benchmark jobs, participate in compensation surveys, and maintain accurate job-matching and market-pricing data.
  • Support salary structures, job classifications, job descriptions, job evaluations, FLSA classifications, and salary range recommendations.
  • Analyze compensation data to assess market position, internal pay equity, compensation trends, and areas requiring attention or action.
  • Support annual merit, promotion, market adjustment, and incentive compensation processes.
  • Prepare compensation reports and analysis for Total Rewards, HR, and business leaders.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition on new positions, promotions, hiring decisions, and compensation questions.
  • Support compensation policies, documentation, pay transparency requirements, compliance activities, and process improvements.

Benefits & Retirement โ€“ approximately 25%

  • Act as backup support to administration of employee benefit and retirement programs, including eligibility, employee questions, reporting, audits, vendor coordination, and data accuracy.
  • Review and reconcile benefit vendor invoices, eligibility information, and payroll deductions; partner with our Benefits Partner to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with annual benefit enrollment, vendor implementations, testing, data reconciliation, and other Total Rewards projects as needed.
  • Partner with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and vendors to maintain accurate employee and program data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in human resources, business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • One to three years of experience in compensation, finance, HR analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, Excel, data accuracy, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, leaders, and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of compensation-related regulations, including FLSA and pay transparency requirements.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with compensation analysis, market pricing, salary surveys, compensation administration, HRIS, or market-pricing tools.
