Job description

The Population Health Financial Data Analyst will support clinic operations and population health initiatives by extracting, compiling, validating, analyzing and presenting data to Clinic Leadership. This position will help develop and drive clinical improvement and efficiency strategies through influential delivery of actionable analytics.
Responsibilities:
  • Participates in teams supporting high visibility strategic initiatives in the areas of Quality and Population Health, including joint operating committee payor meetings, process improvement, clinical initiatives, and financial initiatives.
  • Understands department, segment and organizational strategy and operating objectives including their linkages to related areas. Provides decision support required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and specific business performance issues across a matrixed environment. Fosters key relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with all levels of management and clinical teams to analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding key patient metric trends, costs, utilization, and financial gap opportunities for variety of value-based care contracts.
  • Constructs detailed financial models and routine reconciliations to assist in understanding and accounting of present performance against projected plans, contractual agreements, and budgets.
  • Creates highly efficient financial models by integrating data from multiple data sources using a combination of databases, system tools, advanced skills in MS Office products, and data warehouse SQL queries and scripts.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancements of financial models, analytical reports, and data warehousing of market, CMS, and payor claims data used in analyzing quality, cost and utilization, risk adjustments, audits of payor reports & settlement payments, budgeting, and forecasting for management and corporate Finance.
  • Assist in the awareness and adaptation of techniques in the field of value-based contract financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other advanced degree in quantitative disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and data analysis with respect to identifying and defining source data from large data sets using SQL or other data profiling tools.
  • Healthcare and EHR data experience is necessary, with a specific emphasis on HCC risk scoring mechanics, Quality metrics, and understanding of various value-based care programs.
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills including external data connections and PowerPivot development experience.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
  • Must achieve certification in at least one Epic application within first 2 years of employment.

Preferred:
  • SQL experience
  • Power BI experience, or similar data visualization tools such as Tableau or Qlik.
  • Understanding of Medicare and Medicare Advantage programs, related Medicare Risk Adjustment and payment models.
  • Designations preferred: CPA, CMA, CGMA, MBA

Pay Range:
$88,037.00 - $132,055.00
