Overview

Responsibilities

Summary:
The Financial Data Analyst I supports the Finance Department by managing purchase requisitions, processing telecom invoices, and preparing regular month end dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) reports as well as assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Financial Data Analyst facilitates purchase requisitions for various departments and analyzes and tracks against budget.
  • Coordinates with operational managers and review accuracy of telecom invoices and ensure invoices are paid and coded correctly.
  • Contributes to the monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis, specifically monitoring expenditures against established guidance. Document identified discrepancies and recommend actionable solutions.
  • The Financial Data Analyst develops and maintains month-end dashboards and KPI reports that summarize key financial information and performance indicators.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting process, including improving forecast methodologies and performing data entry in budgeting software.
  • Performs other ad hoc duties, reporting, analysis as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an accounting or finance-related position.
  • High knowledge of MS Excel software, including Lookups and Pivot Tables.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to respond quickly to internal and external customer requests.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
