Job description

LHH is seeking a Financial Analyst for an exciting opportunity in downtown Chicago. This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and supporting key business decisions through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have experience within a financial services, legal, or professional services environment and possess strong analytical, reporting, and Excel skills. Details

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, KPIs, profitability metrics, and business performance trends.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Prepare client, departmental, and firm-level financial reporting and statistical analysis.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, utilization, and profitability across business units.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify financial trends, operational risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Partner with accounting, operations, IT, and leadership teams to support financial initiatives and reporting needs.
  • Create and present financial data in a clear and concise manner for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and management reporting requests.
  • Assist in evaluating business performance and recommending process improvements to drive efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Three plus years of Financial Analyst, FP&A, Accounting, or related finance experience.
  • Experience within legal services, financial services, banking, or other professional services environments is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience working with financial reporting systems and large datasets.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings effectively to leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
