Job description

Our client, a media entertainment company, is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team! This will be a onsite role working out of their office in New York. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in finance with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and systems like SAP or Oracle.
Role Overview:
  • Contract Role: 6 months
  • Pay: $43.12/hr on W2
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and forecasting of annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and long-range financial plans.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis, track actual costs against forecasts, and provide actionable financial insights to business and technology leaders.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop, validate, and prioritize capital project portfolios, including the use of NPV modeling for Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
  • Collaborate closely with Technology Finance leads and department heads to drive financial transparency, accountability, and improved operational performance.
  • Execute monthly accounting close processes, including the management of accruals and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Utilize data from multiple sources to identify trends and conduct ad-hoc analyses that support both tactical operations and long-term strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or a related field with a solid foundation in GAAP accounting principles.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential, with bonus consideration for experience in systems like SAP, Oracle, TM1, or Longview.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable narratives, paired with a proactive, detail-oriented approach to process improvement and end-to-end task management.
  • Must be an adaptable team player capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and industry best practices.
