Financial Analyst
Location: Irwindale, CA (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually

Breeder’s Choice Pet Foods, LLC is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of high-quality branded and custom dog and cat foods. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team at our Irwindale, CA office. This role works closely with the VP of Finance and plays a key role in analyzing and interpreting financial data to support business decision-making and overall financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support analytics and KPI reporting, including monthly tracking and distribution
  • Perform profitability, product, and financial analysis and reporting
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Track and reconcile prepaid expenses
  • Manage rebates and promotions accruals, analysis, and reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Support accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and ad hoc projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • Ensure financial deadlines are consistently met
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required); MBA or CPA a plus
  • 2–3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
  • Experience with large enterprise ERP systems (SAP or SAP Business One preferred)
  • Strong understanding of account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
  • Experience in manufacturing or consumer products industries preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage large data sets and complex financial models
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

  • Financial modeling (2–3 years)
  • Consumer products, food industry, or manufacturing experience
