A Day in the Life
Our summer internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions lasting 10-11 weeks. We offer competitive compensation, educational and social programming throughout the summer, as well as housing assistance and relocation support for eligible interns.
As a finance intern, you will have broad exposure to our global organizations and leadership teams. Your participation in special projects and strategic initiatives will be critical to overall success of our business strategies.
  • Analyze financials, capital expenditures or cost center expenses

  • Conduct modeling support

  • Conduct risk-based internal audits of operational, financial, and information technology functions across the globe

  • Review income and balance sheet statements, profit and loss statements, and consolidated statements

  • Conduct market, industry, and category analysis and strategies

Location and Work Model
The Finance Internships are based in Minneapolis, MN. All interns must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
Medtronic is working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of its commitment to professional growth, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering the extraordinary.
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for a Summer 2027 Finance Internship, your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these basic requirements.
  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, Spring 2029.

  • Ability to participate full time, 40 hours per week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 14 for semester system programs or June 15-August 21 for quarter system programs.

  • Applicants for Medtronic's Summer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Medtronic does not sponsor work authorization for internship positions. Individuals on temporary visa classifications, including E, F-1 (CPT or OPT), H-1, H-2, L, B, J, or TN, as well as anyone who requires employment sponsorship now or in the future, are not eligible for the Program

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience with team-based academic, extracurricular, internship, or professional projects

  • Relevant coursework, academic projects, case competitions, and/or internship experience in finance, accounting, economics, business, analytics, or related fields

  • Experience analyzing data and developing recommendations through coursework, projects, research, or internships

  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines across academic, work, or extracurricular commitments

  • Interest in corporate finance, FP&A, treasury, operations finance, or business analytics demonstrated through coursework, projects, internships, or student involvement

  • Exposure to financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, or data visualization

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$22.25 - $25.75
The base salary range is used nationally in the United States, excluding Puerto Rico. The Medtronic Internship Program offers an hourly rate of pay that falls within the range of $22.25 - $25.75 per hour. The hourly rate offered will be determined by the position and is subject to variation based on the number of years of school completed.
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
