Position Overview:
Provide management with financial information and analysis as well as other monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting. This position will work proactively with the VP of Finance to provide business/financial information and advice.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare management reports for Corporate and Division.
  • Liaise with Central Accounting and Division Function heads for Month End processes.
  • Support for annual plan and forecasting.
  • Safeguard the Company's assets in accordance with Corporate and Division policy and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review monthly financial statements, account summaries and reports.
  • Support in the preparation for project proformas, annual plans and other financial projections.
  • Control costs by analyzing budgets and actuals, establishing procedures and implementing corrective action as required.
  • Support the central accounting team for the monthly close process.
  • Assist with payroll calculations for bonuses, commissions and referral fees.
  • Prepare project reports and draws for banks and land bankers as necessary.
  • Manage the lot takedown process and option payments.
  • Prepare sales margin calculations on sales and inventory homes.
  • Perform analyses and prepare schedules for Division President ATL, Division President Land and VP of Finance - ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare and assist with meetings for Land Budgets, Indirect expenses, Land allocation costs, VPO and Construction Variance.
  • Assist with community pricing and with bi-weekly spec home review.
  • Support for the Annual Plan and forecast process.
  • Perform continuous improvement of financial processes and makes recommendations towards reducing time and improving the efficiency of the financial functions and then implements the improvement process.
  • Oversee the process to make sure incoming tax bills are properly accounted for and distributed.
  • Perform value-added and other ad-hoc analysis and provide decision support for special projects and initiatives across the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related degree.
  • At least one year of experience in accounting, finance or related.
  • Experience applying generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting.
  • Experience enforcing accounting control procedures.
  • Microsoft Excel experience.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.
  • Ability to review, analyze and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot to solve problems.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English. Spanish language skills are helpful. Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have sufficient vision to utilize all office equipment.
