GFEBS Financial Analyst

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management from receipt of funds (e.g., GFEBS, MIPRs, 7600A, AMC 1095s) through liquidation of obligations.
  • Provide comprehensive support for budget formulation and execution in accordance with federal financial management regulations and DoD policies.
  • Utilize GFEBS to input, track, reconcile, and report on financial data, ensuring data integrity and compliance with DoD financial standards, with specific expertise in Purchase Requisition (PR) and Project Order (PO) creation and management.
  • Monitor the status of funds, track open commitments and unliquidated obligations (ULO), and ensure proper use and timely execution of appropriated funding.
  • Coordinate with division leadership, program managers, CORs, contracting officers, and other stakeholders to align budget execution with program objectives, contract requirements, and fiscal policy.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget justifications, spend plans, unfunded requirement submissions, and obligation/expenditure reports.
  • Assist in preparation of financial reports and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support audits, reviews, and financial reconciliations in GFEBS, contributing to year-end closeout and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Provide input on current and proposed financial systems or automation tools to enhance processing of funding documents and improve financial operations.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen (required for federal contracting work).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in federal budgeting, finance, or accounting roles.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with GFEBS is mandatory; candidates must have routinely used the system for budget execution, obligation tracking, reconciliations, and reporting in a federal financial management environment. Limited or superficial experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
  • Strong understanding of DoD financial management regulations, principles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in analyzing large datasets, financial statements, and reports.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools.
