Job Title: Financial Analyst III

Location: Overland Park , KS 66251

Duration: 6- Months 

Pay rate: Pay Range: $44/hr to $48/hr on W2 (no benefits)

On-site 3 days / week 

Job Description:

This role provides payroll expertise to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing within the organization. It manages payroll programs and supports payroll operations by troubleshooting issues, assisting escalations, and contributing to process improvements. Success is measured by timely and accurate payroll processing, compliance adherence, and effective collaboration with internal partners. The work impacts organizational payroll integrity and supports internal clients through subject matter expertise and process optimization.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll programs to ensure accurate payment and reporting
  • Coordinate and execute payroll tax, garnishments, and general payroll operations to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness
  • Lead and participate in payroll-related projects by coordinating timelines, facilitating meetings, and validating data through testing
  • Develop and implement process improvements, standardization, and automation to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal partners such as Legal, Accounting, and Human Resources to resolve payroll issues and support compliance
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree plus 2 years of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
  • 4+ years of progressive payroll experience (Preferred)
  • Experience performing numerous functions of HR, Payroll, reporting applications, and system integrations (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Problem Solving Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, critical thinking, set priorities, problem-solve, and make decisions and follow-through (Required)
  • Communication Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to relay complex information succinctly (Required)
  • Customer Service Provide consulting skills to internal and external partners to drive best practices (Required)
  • Analytics Ability to apply analytical reasoning in problem assessment and resolution so must be proficient with using root cause analysis concepts (Required)
  • Microsoft Excel Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas (Required)
  • Data Management Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of data and make data-driven decisions and recommendations (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational goals (Required)
  • Project Management Project or process management experience a plus (Required)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) (Preferred)
