Job Title
Financial Aid Coordinator
Position Purpose
This position supports the Office of Student Financial Services by running routine financial aid processes, coordinating the work study program, assisting students in applying for and receiving financial aid, and providing exceptional customer service in the office, phone, email and Zoom. The financial aid coordinator is responsible for sending required communication by email and mail, conducting outreach calls and performing other processing duties as assigned. Additionally, this position oversees the daily functions of the work study program to ensure efficient and accurate processing, proactive outreach and regulatory compliance. The role plays a key part in helping students and their families understand and navigate the financial aid and billing process.
Essential Duties Summary
  • Process daily award notifications, tracking requirement notices, weekly loan notices, and exit counseling information;
  • Review submitted documents for accuracy and compliance; Ensure timely processing of documents; Assist students in completing required forms;
  • Support students in identifying and securing work study positions and guide them through all required steps;
  • Process work study hiring and payroll; maintain related files and forms; review spending reports to ensure accuracy;
  • Coordinate and deliver annual training sessions for work study supervisors on program policies and procedures;
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations;
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, families and staff, offering guidance on financial aid options and eligibility requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in business or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of technology sufficient to understand and coordinate processes.
  • 1-3 years office administration experience.
  • Excellent time management, customer service, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Banner or other similar software
  • 1-3 years experience working in a financial aid office.
