Salary:

Ghostworks is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to help build and scale the companys financial infrastructure during a high-growth phase.

This role will focus onestablishingstrong manufacturing finance processes, implementing cost and project accounting systems, building financial models and forecasts, and helping implement scalable financial systems.

Unlike a traditional CFO role, this position requires aroll-up-your-sleeves operatorwho is comfortable working directly in spreadsheets and accounting systems while building the processes and tools needed to support rapid growth.

The Director of Finance will work closely with the COO, leadership team, and fractional CFO to prepare the organization for future scale and eventual transition to a full-time CFO.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Project Accounting

  • Establish cost accounting and project/job costing systemsappropriate forhybrid manufacturing and engineering projects
  • Develop program-level profitability tracking
  • Implement labor, material, and overhead cost tracking methodologies
  • Ensureaccurateinventory, WIP, and cost allocation practices

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Build andmaintainfinancial models and forecasts
  • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Create pro-forma financial projections fornew programsand initiatives
  • Provide leadership with clear financial performance metrics

Systems & Process Development

  • Evaluate and implement financial systems, including potential ERP platforms
  • Improve financial data structure, chart of accounts, and reporting processes
  • Integrate accounting processes with operational systems
  • Establish scalable financial processes and internal controls

Operational Finance & Cash Management

  • Improve working capital management, including AR, AP, and inventory
  • Support pricing, quoting, and margin analysis fornew programs
  • Partner with operations leadership to ensure financial discipline in project execution

Strategic Finance Support

  • Support preparation of financial materials for lenders or potential investors
  • Assistleadership with financial modeling and capital planning
  • Work with fractional CFO on strategic financial initiatives

Leadership & Team Development

  • Partner with Accounting Manager to ensure strong financial operations
  • Implement standard operating procedures for accounting and finance processes
  • Help scale the finance function as the company grows

Compliance

  • Assistwith the reporting and tracking of areas like insurances, 1099s,etc
  • Confirm documentation for employee expenses is up to date and follows company policies
  • All other tax and year end reporting documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience
  • Strong experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or project accounting
  • Experience implementing financial systems or ERP platforms
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Experience building financial processes in growing organizations


Preferred:

  • Experience in engineer-to-order or project-based manufacturing
  • Experience supporting capital raising or strategic planning
  • CPA or MBA
