Description:

The Village of Itasca is seeking a qualified, analytical and innovative finance professional to fill a full-time Finance Manager position in the Administration Department. Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the Finance Manager oversees the day-to-day finance operations within the Administration Department and supervises support staff including the Customer Service Representative, AP/Payroll Administrative Assistant, and Utility Billing Coordinator. In this role, the Finance Manager position will oversee front desk operations, cashiering, accounts payable, account receivable, collections, utility billing, and payroll (in conjunction with Human Resources).


The Finance Manager also assists the Finance Director with ongoing and annual financial responsibilities including the preparation of the annual tax levy, capital improvement plan, information technology plan, budget, appropriations ordinance, monthly financial report, audit, grant reporting, and ERP implementation and troubleshooting.

Itasca is a warm and friendly community that embraces families and businesses alike. Itasca is located in the northeast corner of DuPage County just west of O’Hare International Airport. Home to large industrial and office parks, four hotels, and a Metra Station, Itasca is known for its strong business climate, multimodal transportation, and interstate highway access. The FY 2027 Budget consists of a $16 million General Fund Budget and $32 million in capital projects. The Village has a diversified revenue stream with very strong sales tax, property tax, utility tax and income tax. The Village received an S&P Bond Rating of AA+ in 2022. The Village implemented its first Downtown TIF District in May 2023 which has already spurred development and interest in the downtown area. Itasca is home to beautiful parks and recreational amenities and features a robust event season including the largest 4th of July fireworks show in the State of Illinois.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $110,000 +/- DOQ plus an excellent benefits package including IMRF pension participation.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge

· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or closely related field. Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred.

· A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible finance experience including 2 years in a supervisory and management capacity. Government experience preferred.

· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their practical application.

· Proficiency in financial ERP system(s) and Microsoft 365.

· Possession and maintenance of a valid Illinois drivers’ license.
