Summary

We are seeking an Associate for our Construction Finance team. This position will aid the Construction Finance team in budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting and analysis of our multi-billion-dollar capital projects. You will effectively communicate results to senior leaders to enable and enhance decision making. This person will be based in Arlington, VA.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial management of specific business area(s)
    • Developing and managing budgets
    • Reporting actuals
    • Variance analysis
    • Trend and forecast updates
    • Liquidity management
    • Change management
    • Contract review
    • Supplier risk analysis
    • Understand and assist with accounting treatments
    • Provide data-driven insights to drive business decisions
  • Executive level presentations on financial results
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
    • Support external reporting requirements
    • Ad-hoc reporting as requested
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders within your business area, including project controls, construction, engineering, development, accounting and leadership, to gather data and align financial goals
  • Continual process improvement to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting tools, and building financial models

Qualifications

Required experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Finance, Cost Engineering, Project Controls, Accounting or related field
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities, and understanding of key financial concepts
  • Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, fast paced environment, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness with the ability to influence and challenge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and present key details and conclusions
  • Proactive problem solving mindset to achieve business and financial objectives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership of work with strong attention to detail
  • High level of ethics, integrity and emotional intelligence with ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Financial Modeling
  • Willing to report in office, daily
  • Occasional travel to construction site(s) or Houston office will be required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or relevant field

Salary Range

$85,000 - $100,000
