About the Role: 


Sprays surface of machines and/or parts, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material such as urethane and/ polyurethane paints.


The hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 6:00 am to 4:45 pm.  Fridays will be based on production needs.  Occasional Saturdays are possible, depending on production needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Must have basic automotive painter knowledge.
  • Basic spray gun operation, basic paint equipment knowledge and repairs, basic spraying techniques.
  • Spray equipment (2KS paint mixing systems, spray guns, pumps, pressure pots, spray gun cleaning station, paint kitchen area, booths ad ovens).
  • Applying paint, mixing paint ratios
  • Taping or masking areas
  • Set up load/unload paint booths and ovens.
  • Touch up equipment, panel painting or blending the area.
  • Basic non-hazardous and hazardous waste training and disposal
  • Must be willing to prep machines and/or parts to be painted.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of the solvent recycler
  • Use a 3-wheel hydraulic cart to move the machines around the paint area.
  • Must be able to climb ladders (up to 12 feet), stoop, bend, reaching, pulling, walking, kneeling, standing, crouching, and crawling.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to mix all paint colors by ratio.
  • Must be able to use dry film thickness gauge after the paint has cured.
Requirements:

Education and Experience: 

  • High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree)
  • One year certificate from college or technical school
  • One to two years painting experience (automotive preferred)

Physical Demands: 

  • The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands/fingers, reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb/balance on a ladder (up to 12 feet in the air)
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision and color vision.
