Job Purpose:
The Americas Logistics Supervisor oversees logistics operations across the POLYVANTIS Supply Chain for the Americas region, focusing on managing the flow of goods from POLYVANTIS plants to customers, as well as exports to and imports from other regions. This role also includes the management of raw material flows to the plants to support procurement operations. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for optimizing costs to meet operational budgets, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with trade and customs regulations.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
Regional Logistics Flow Management:
  • Oversee the movement of finished goods from POLYVANTIS plants (Mount Vernon, IN; Long Sault, ON; Sanford, ME; Campinas, Brazil) to customers across North America.
  • Manage export flows to other POLYVANTIS regions and coordinate imports to ensure seamless, cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to ensure efficient and reliable inbound logistics for raw materials to plants.

Cost Management:
  • Monitor and control logistics costs, ensuring alignment with the business operational budget on a monthly basis.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality or operational efficiency.
  • Regularly report on logistics cost performance and provide insights into variances and improvement initiatives.

Import & Export Logistics:
  • Manage international logistics operations, including documentation, customs clearance, and adherence to trade compliance regulations.
  • Work with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth cross-border movements of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with trade laws and regulations across the U.S., Canada, and Brazil, proactively addressing potential issues.

Physical Inventory Accuracy:
  • Ensure the accuracy of physical inventories at all storage locations by implementing robust inventory control procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee regular inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

Procurement Support:
  • Work closely with procurement teams to manage the flow of raw materials to production facilities, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing disruptions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics providers to support procurement and production needs.

Process Optimization:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Utilize logistics management systems (e.g., SAP S4) to enhance supply chain visibility and enable data-driven decisions.

Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all customs, trade, and logistics regulations for regional and international operations.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, including disruptions in raw material supply or distribution flows.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Partner with internal teams (Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Production) and external logistics providers to align logistics activities with business objectives.
  • Serve as a key contact for resolving logistics challenges and ensuring customer and production satisfaction.

 

Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma skills desired
  • Versed on SAP S/4 Hana TM, IM and EWM modules
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on the field
  • Able to travel
