Job description

Description:

Sharpen all saws and maintain filing equipment along with mill alignment equipment.

New Iseli filing equipment coming in August and training by manufacturer will be provided.

May be willing to train the right applicant with no previous saw filing experience.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Swages, shapes, sharpens, levels and benches all saws for sawmill.

2. Work closely with sawmill supervisor, maintenance and operations manager

on quality and any sizing issues.

3. Aligns band saw mill and carriage to assure quality sizing

4. Sharpens and prepares chipper knives


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. Must have the ability read calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices.

2. Must have strong troubleshooting capabilities.

3. Must have basic math skills.

4. Ability to analyze saw or alignment problems.

5. Ability to work with saw steel to create proper tension in blades.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Long periods of standing.

2. Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. at times.

3. Bending, twisting, walking, climbing, standing and reaching.


Pay range potential over career $59,841 - $63,336 annually.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of saw filing experience. Willing to train the right person with great work ethic and sharp attention to detail.
