IT Manager

Crane 1

West Chester, OH • On-site

$140K - $160K/yr

Full-time

Posted 29 days ago

Job description

The IT Manager is responsible for all aspects of Crane 1's technology infrastructure, systems administration, security and end-user support. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational execution. The ideal candidate brings a track record of building reliable, secure, and scalable IT environments in middle market companies, with strong command of the Microsoft ecosystem and a bias for uptime, efficiency, and responsiveness.
This role reports directly to the CFO and is expected to function as a trusted operational partner to business leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Salary: $140k - $160k / yr
Systems Administration & Infrastructure
  • Own and manage all network infrastructure, servers, and cloud environments to ensure maximum stability and uptime
  • Manage Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Intune across the organization
  • Design and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity protocols
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations

Device Provisioning & End-User Support
  • Manage the full lifecycle of employee devices, including laptops and mobile devices (provisioning, configuration, refresh, and decommission)
  • Deploy and manage Intune for mobile device management (MDM) and endpoint configuration
  • Oversee help desk operations, ensuring rapid response times and high-resolution rates for all tier levels
  • Establish and maintain clear SLAs for internal support requests

Vendor & Partner Management
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for the managed service provider (MSP) and CRM consultant
  • Evaluate vendor performance, manage contracts, and ensure accountability against deliverables
  • Identify and onboard new technologies and technology vendors as the business scales
  • Govern a partner-leveraged operating model: define and manage SOWs, SLAs, performance metrics, and renewal economics across the partner ecosystem so operational delivery is executed under measurable accountability rather than continuous-overhead arrangements

Application & Platform Management
  • Support and administer in partner with external consultants, the core business applications including Sage 300, InspectAll, FileMaker, and Power BI
  • Coordinate with functional stakeholders to optimize application workflows and integrations
  • Oversee user access management, licensing, and configuration across all platforms

Cybersecurity
  • Own the cybersecurity posture of the organization, including endpoint protection, identity management, and security awareness training
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data security and privacy standards
  • Conduct and coordinate regular vulnerability assessments and remediation
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and acceptable use standards
  • Maintain alignment with cyber insurance underwriting requirements and customer security obligations; coordinate independent penetration testing, disaster recovery testing, and external audits on a defined cadence

Project Management & Strategic Planning
  • Lead IT projects with clear scope, timelines, budgets, and accountability-driving on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Build and maintain a forward-looking IT roadmap aligned with business growth objectives
  • Develop and manage the annual IT operating and capital budget
  • Provide regular reporting to the CFO on infrastructure health, project status, and key risks
  • Lead IT due diligence and post-close integration of acquired companies; maintain a playbook that scales integration capacity as required
  • Advance the adoption of automation, AI-assisted operations, infrastructure-as-code, and zero-trust patterns to scale capability through architecture
  • Cultivate an operating culture focused on automation, repeatable patterns, and continuous improvement

Qualifications
Required
  • 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in a middle market business environment
  • Deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience managing network infrastructure, with a proven track record of high availability and uptime
  • Hands-on experience with device lifecycle management and MDM platforms (Intune preferred)
  • Strong vendor management skills, including MSP and third-party consultant oversight
  • Proven ability to lead a responsive, service-oriented IT function in a fast-paced operating environment
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical business leaders
  • Demonstrated experience designing and governing a partner-leveraged operating model with managed service providers and specialty vendors

Preferred
  • Experience with Sage 300 ERP administration or support
  • Familiarity with InspectAll or similar field service management platforms
  • Experience with FileMaker database administration
  • Background in industrial, field services, or multi-site operations
  • Relevant certifications: Microsoft Certified (M365, Azure), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience adopting AI, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tooling in middle market IT operations
  • Experience leading IT due diligence and post-close integration of acquisitions
