Location: Seattle Office - In Person

Specialization: Administration, Civil Litigation


At Smith Freed Eberhard, we do more than just practice law - we set new standards in legal excellence. Specializing in civil defense work, our Seattle office is on the lookout for a File Clerk. In this role, you will provide legal office administrative support.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing reception desk, i.e. greeting clients, answering/transferring calls, accepting orders, etc.
  • Index and file pleadings/correspondence
  • Organize files for legal teams
  • Copying and scanning documents for case files
  • Creating case binders
  • Filing of closed cases
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Distributing mail throughout the firm, posting mail and completing mail runs
  • Ordering office supplies and various in-office meals
  • Event planning for office
  • Setting up and cleaning conference rooms
  • Coordinating with Accounting department for check disbursements
  • Coordinating IT set-up for new hires
  • Cleaning and organizing throughout the office
  • Delivering documents to the court when necessary
  • Conflict Checks

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in-office, Monday through Friday, 8-5pm
  • 1+ years' experience working within a professional office setting
  • Prior law firm experience a plus but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Starting at $22 - 23/hour, depending on experience
