Overview:
Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco's technology and drive customer satisfaction through support. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and Veeco Wet Processing equipment
Responsibilities:
  • Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up all customer's and Veeco's protocols related to safety and security
  • Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs
  • Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
  • Serve as contact for onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for Veeco customers
  • Report all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports
  • Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical area and a minimum of 2 years of experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Military training and experience are welcome.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers
  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controls
  • System integration, test, and debug skills
  • Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment
  • Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needs
  • Ability to build excellent customer relationships
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Able to travel 85% of the time within North America to perform Field Service duties. Occasional international travel will be required.

Physical Job Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Needs to be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing
  • Must be able to use standard hand tools and standard office equipment
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for several hours in a workday if needed.

Salary and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $63,892.92-$85,190.56, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
