"A Day in the Life "

As a Field Service Manager, you will have a high level of involvement and interaction with internal and external customers in helping to solve their service needs. This role also requires work in collaboration with the inventory center supervisors and support the branch including operations and sales teams.

"What You'll Do"

  • Clearly and comfortably delegate routine, important tasks, decisions and sets clear objectives and measures while monitoring process, progress, and results for the team.
  • Ensure quality control in the field is tracked and documented regularly using our current monthly tracking reports.
  • Responsible for positive interactions with the customer and ensuring the company’s reputation is upheld/improved with every customer contact.
  • Document customer comments from telephone contact with every customer that receives a building or a service call to verify customer satisfaction and performance by service technician.
  • Spending 50% of their time out in the field alongside sales reps and or service technicians, asking questions, solving problems, ensuring materials and information flow efficiently to ensure their department’s success.
  • Work closely with quality insurance inspector to document quality issues in the plant and in the field.
  • Work closely with project managers and sales reps for service-related opportunities in the field.
  • Work closely with the Production Scheduler and Supervisors to verify building and material meet current code compliance with the assistance of local inspection agencies.
  • Be one of the technical resources for the Inventory Center to include having a working knowledge of current local and state building codes.
  • Hold frequent development discussions with Service Coordinators and Technicians and is aware of each person’s career goals. Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments to the team and construct development plans and execute them.
  • Maintain fleet records and manage vehicle fleet including fuel, maintenance, licensing and replacement of up to 20 service vehicles and trailers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Building/construction experience. Also picks up on technical things quickly and can learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Valid Driver's License
