Position Summary

A National Charger Field Service Charger Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across North America. This individual will be able to diagnose, repair, and provide root cause analysis; evaluate Remote Monitoring System data to identify possible performance-related concerns as well as to study charger utilization; accurately record all Service work and develop pertinent reports; collaborate with customers and third-party service providers; provide technical support for Field Service, Sales and Marketing efforts; perform field upgrades or retrofits. With assistance from the Technical Support Team and Field Service management the National Charger Field Service Technician will ensure successful implementation, operation and repair of Orange EV chargers in addition to being a technical resource for other departments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Understand the complete charger at a systemic and component level to effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair
  • Understand the Orange EV truck in addition to the general EV population with specific focus on charging system infrastructure
  • Utilize the Remote Monitoring System and the service-keeping system to determine a service plan and prioritize customer needs
  • Accurately record all service activity in the service record-keeping system
  • Communicate with customers and third-party service providers to aid in infrastructure decisions, diagnosis and issue escalation and promote the most efficient installation and repair scenarios
  • Support Orange EV Field Service, Customer Technicians and Third-Party Service Providers with maintenance and ancillary repair information and technical assistance
  • Travel amounts will vary depending on workload but potentially could involve full week trips and extended stays until work is completed
  • When no travel work is needed, this role supports the Technical Support and Charger build teams at our production facility.

Position Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated business professional with qualifications that include:โ€ฏ

  • High School Diploma; related technical degree preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in electrical troubleshoot, EV charger experience highly preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advance level experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and TEAMS.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service.
  • Analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and diagnose situations real time.
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs at waist level and occasionally up to 75- 100 lbs.
  • Ability to squat, sit, lie under, or climb on the vehicle routinely.
  • Ability to handle many functions at one time and adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to set and prioritize goals and achieve them according to a schedule.
  • Ability to execute and follow through on instructions given by the supervisor.
  • Ability to articulate clearly when writing, including composition, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Must be available for regular unplanned travel.
  • Ability to travel by plane, vehicle, or other needed means of transportation without restrictions while bringing needed tools and equipment to perform repairs.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire a Passport, TWIC, TSA card, and any additional background checks our customers may have for site security requirements.
