Job description

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Field Service Engineer to provide expert technical support for advanced aircraft battery, power conversion, and electrical power system products. This role serves as a primary technical resource for customers, assisting with product installation, troubleshooting, configuration, and operational support. The ideal candidate brings extensive aviation electrical systems expertise, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and a customer-first approach to resolving complex technical issues.


Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification and/or pilot certification
  • Familiarity with aircraft instruments and avionics systems
  • Knowledge of FAA Special Conditions
  • Minimum of 5 years of aviation technical support or field service experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft electrical power systems, installation, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience testing, inspecting, and evaluating aircraft electrical and avionics systems
  • Strong understanding of FAA and EASA regulations, including FAR Part 145 repair stations, FAR Parts 91, 23, and 25
  • Working knowledge of aviation certification standards including DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, and DO-311A related to TSO, Type Certification, and Supplemental Type Certification


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customers by providing expert support for installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of aircraft battery and electrical power system products
  • Diagnose technical issues, determine root causes, and coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to deliver timely and effective resolutions
  • Monitor field performance data to identify reliability trends and support continuous product improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, technical findings, and support case progress within CRM systems
  • Assist with technical sales presentations, customer demonstrations, trade shows, and industry conferences as needed
