Job description

The Field Service Engineer- Gas Detection will be working within the Industrial Automation business unit, specifically the Service Team for customer support, team development and training.  This person is the face of Honeywell and will be working with customers and internal organizations on problem resolution.  The purpose of this position will be providing customer support, advanced field technical support and team training & development.  The position will be located in Austin, TX.

You will drive timely identification, investigation, resolution, root cause analysis and replication of advanced technical issues experienced by our field team. You will support focus on accuracy, timely feedback, and customer satisfaction. You will develop broad understanding of customer needs. You will support the knowledge-sharing mindset, methodology, and tools. You will help develop training curriculum for our Field Organization. You will ensure proper documenting and recording of all activity and communication

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, HVAC, Fire Alarm Systems, or a related technical field; OR 1-2 years of equivalent hands-on field service experience; OR completion of military technical training with 1-2 years of field experience
  • 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, for documentation, reporting, service tracking, and communication
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and field service operations
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed

WE VALUE

  • 2+ years of experience applying customer support and product support best practices in a field service, technical service, or industrial environment
  • 1+ years of industry experience in gas detection, fire alarm, HVAC controls, instrumentation, or related technical field preferred
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively support customers, document service activity, and coordinate with internal teams
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying process improvements that increase efficiency, service quality, or customer satisfaction
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com, SharePoint, SAP, and Microsoft Excel for service tracking, reporting, and customer support documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple service requests, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience training or mentoring junior technicians, team members, or customers on system operation and service procedures
  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and support a team while maintaining high standards of safety, service, and accountability
