Lead Field Service Engineer - Marine Drives Job Summary
A global industrial technology company is seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer – Drives to support the installation, commissioning, and lifecycle service of advanced medium-voltage drive systems. Operating under minimal supervision, this role provides critical technical expertise to ensure the integrity, performance, and reliability of power conversion solutions at client sites, including offshore and shipyard environments. 
Lead Field Service Engineer - Marine Drives Responsibilities 
  • Execute and oversee engineering tasks to ensure accurate installation and commissioning of drive systems at customer facilities
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics to resolve equipment issues and implement corrective actions
  • Generate technical documentation such as daily logs, service reports, commissioning and maintenance procedures
  • Act as a project lead at job sites and guide small teams to meet customer needs and project timelines
  • Deliver technical training and system operation briefings to clients and end users
  • Collaborate with internal teams including sales, service, engineering, and parts departments to identify and implement customer solutions
  • Recommend upgrades, spare parts, or services to enhance system performance and customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate inspection planning and maintenance scheduling with customer teams
  • Support engineering input on retrofit and modernization projects, including during the bidding process
  • Provide on-call emergency support and remote troubleshooting when needed
  • Adhere to safety protocols during work performed onboard vessels, offshore, or in shipyard settings
  • Be available for extended travel assignments, including work during weekends or overtime in peak periods
Lead Field Service Engineer - Marine Drives Position Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • OR Associate degree in a relevant field with 5+ additional years of relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of hands-on field service or commissioning experience with electrical or drive systems
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain security clearance for defense-related projects
  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 85%, often on short notice
  • Must be physically capable of working onboard vessels and offshore environments
  • Ability to complete HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) and offshore survival certification
  • Must be based in or able to travel to the greater Philadelphia, PA area for deployments
Lead Field Service Engineer - Marine Drives Preferred Position Requirements 
  • 3+ years of experience with drive platforms such as MV7000, SD7000, or MV3000
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work independently on complex system installations and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in technical leadership and team coordination on-site
  • Ability to deliver training, write technical documentation, and manage customer relationships effectively
