Job description

Field Service Engineer/Tech Job Description

  • Provide solutions for any burner or related equipment problems that may arise in the field with little to no supervision
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with personnel including plant managers, skilled labor, and internal team members
  • Supervise and manage contractors or other personnel while on site
  • Manage workflow based on customer expectations while on site
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure combustion systems are installed and operating correctly
  • Perform start-up, operation, and troubleshooting of all combustion systems and/or equipment
  • Create and submit detailed reports

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in an Engineering discipline or comparable field experience
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 60%
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage workflow and work crews while on the job site
  • Must possess technical and mechanical skills including reading mechanical and electrical drawings, piping utilities from P&IDs, instrumentation, welding, and electrical wiring
  • Must be able to troubleshoot independently and report back for assistance when necessary
