Field Operator - Rover

As a Field Operator - Rover, you'll support Drilling Services operations across multiple locations. You'll learn how to handle, operate, and maintain drilling surface and downhole equipment while working alongside experienced field teams. This is an entrylevel role designed for individuals with oil & gas exposure who want to grow into a longterm field career.

You'll work in challenging environments, support rig operations, and ensure safe, reliable execution at the wellsite and workshop.

As a Field Operator - Rover, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting routine wellsite and workshop tasks under general supervision
  • Learning to operate, handle, and maintain Drilling Services surface and downhole tools
  • Rigging up and rigging down equipment safely and efficiently
  • Developing hoisting and BHAhandling skills during field operations
  • Operating and calibrating surface equipment as instructed
  • Maintaining accurate wellsite records, logs, and communication updates
  • Completing jobrelated paperwork for yourself and assigned crew
  • Following all radiation, safety, and regulatory requirements for Drilling Services operations
  • Driving company vehicles safely and arriving on location as scheduled
  • Participating in quality improvement and continuous learning activities
  • Promoting strong customer relationships at the wellsite
  • Performing all duties in compliance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance, and Core Values
  • Supporting additional operational tasks as required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some oil & gas experience (rig, frac, wireline, drilling, or industrial field work)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work long hours, outdoors, and in demanding field conditions
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to travel frequently and work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, oncall)
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and following procedures

Preferred:

  • CDL or willingness to obtain
  • Previous field exposure in drilling, completions, or wellsite operations
