About Property:
Cooperstown All Star Village is a state-of-the-art sports complex located in Oneonta, NY. Cooperstown All Star Village specializes in youth baseball tournaments bringing teammates, coaches, and families together through our Big-League Experiences. We are committed to maintaining the values and experience gained from playing the game, while making sure there's a whole lot of fun along the way.
Position Summary:
Cooperstown All Star Village is looking for a part-time Field Maintenance member to help cultivate an outstanding environment for guests, tournament participants, and the staff of Cooperstown All Star Village. The Field Maintenance position is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience in day-to-day landscape, facility operations, and maintenance duties as well as tournament operations. will focus on tournament prep and operations along with management of field staff.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Event set-up, including changeover and conversions.
  • Installation and removal of temp fencing, goals and other sports field equipment
  • Ensure windscreens and fence toppers are secure at all times
  • Preparing the field for games, running turf dragger, patching turf
  • Assist with filling and emptying water and Gatorade coolers in team dugouts
  • Provide event-day quality control.
  • Maintain overall park cleanliness, including dugouts, trash receptacles and restrooms; in prep for and during events/tournaments.
  • Operation of Fields Maintenance equipment and tools safely and proficiently
  • Power wash dugouts
  • Other projects as necessary.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Operation of Fields Maintenance equipment and tools safely and proficiently
  • Able to effectively communicate with a diverse population, including strong verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends seasonally as the business requires.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, including walking long distances throughout the park during assigned shift.
  • May be asked to routinely lift items of weight up to 75 lbs. to accomplish job duties.

Preferred:
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills; ability to adhere to Company's Service Standards.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, including ability to effectively use scanning equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Customer service experience a plus.
  • Forklift or other relevant certifications a plus.

Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:
  • You may be required to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • May be exposed to dust/dirt at the complex.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
