Field Application Scientist (FAS) - Pluto C-Free Portfolio
Location: San Francisco, CA
Regional Coverage: Northwest U.S.
About the Role
Curiox is seeking a Field Application Scientist (FAS) to support our Pluto C-Free portfolio. This role is ideal for a scientist who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement and wants to play a key role in helping customers successfully adopt innovative cell processing and sample preparation solutions.
The FAS will partner closely with customers, Sales, Field Service, and internal cross-functional teams to provide training, technical support, and application guidance. We are especially interested in candidates with strong flow cytometry expertise, including hands-on experience with antibody cocktailing, staining workflows, and sample preparation. Experience supporting clinical or medical center environments handling patient samples is highly valued.
This is a regional role focused primarily on customers in the Northwest U.S. and limited Central US Coverage, with moderate travel required.
What You'll Do
Customer Training and Technical Support
  • Deliver onsite and remote training for customers using the Pluto C-Free platform
  • Provide technical support during installation, onboarding, and routine operation
  • Troubleshoot customer questions and help ensure a successful user experience
  • Advise customers on best practices for flow cytometry-related sample preparation and staining workflows

Product Demonstrations and Applications Support
  • Conduct product demonstrations for prospective and existing customers
  • Partner with the Sales team to communicate the technical value of Pluto C-Free solutions
  • Support customer applications involving flow cytometry, antibody staining optimization, and clinical sample workflows
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate insights to internal teams

Operational and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Field Service Engineers to support seamless customer handoffs
  • Assist in developing SOPs, application notes, and technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, trainings, and demo outcomes
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Customer Experience teams to share field insights and improve workflows

What We're Looking For
  • Master's/ PHD degree in life sciences, biotechnology, immunology, or a related field
  • Strong hands-on laboratory experience in life sciences applications
  • Flow cytometry expertise strongly preferred
  • Experience with antibody cocktailing, staining workflows, and sample preparation
  • Experience in medical centers, hospital labs, or other clinical sample-handling environments is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-30%

Preferred Experience
  • Prior customer-facing, field applications, technical support, or scientific training experience
  • Background in immunology, cell biology, or related application areas
  • Experience supporting workflows involving clinical or translational research samples
