As a Field Application Scientist at ONI you will Provide pre-, peri-, and post-sales technical support to customers through live demonstrations, troubleshooting inbound customer questions/issues, proactive engagement with customers, and collecting feedback for product development, supporting operations communications, aligning shipments, diagnosing technical issues, and doing basic preventative maintenance on instrumentation.
Your Role:
  • Demonstrate the value of ONI's technology suite to potential customers through in-person demonstrations at customer sites across multiple application spaces
  • Deliver high-quality customer experience by maintaining cutting-edge imaging method expertise, operating as a peer to customers
  • Create product awareness by engaging with the scientific community, answering technical questions, delivering presentations and demonstrations to showcase ONI's products at conferences, webinars, seminars, and other industry events
  • Work closely with the Sales team to understand the status and details of each opportunity in the sales funnel, and providing scientific insights during pitches and meetings with potential customers
  • Design and conduct experiments at customer's sites or in ONI's laboratory, to highlight how ONI's technology suite can solve specific challenges and meet their needs
  • Assist customers in the setup and operation of products by conducting demonstrations and training sessions, both remotely and on-site, to ensure customers can effectively utilize ONI's products
  • Provide ongoing hands-on support and guidance to customers, serving as a primary point of contact for technical inquiries, support requests, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Facilitate the packing & shipping of components, instruments and products to customer base and internal users using couriers
  • Work with global logistics team to coordinate shipments and liaise with external and internal customers on a daily basis
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, demonstration outcomes, technical issues, and resolutions in Salesforce
  • Generate regular reports on customer feedback, product performance, and customer success metrics for Product and Marketing teams to assess and improve customer satisfaction
Essential Skills
  • Characterized and performed data analysis of biological samples using relevant fluorescence  microscopy techniques 
  • Designed protocols for preparation of samples in fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), immunohistochemistry or fluorescence microscopy. 
  • Conducted physical demonstrations and presentations of innovative Life Science technologies to technical audiences
  • Balanced and prioritize multiple projects  in parallel and at different phases
  • Worked as part of a multidisciplinary scientific team
  • Sample preparation for  fluorescence microscopy, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) or immunohistochemistry
  • Data analysis of microscopy data  
  • Identifying appropriate use cases for each type of microscopy experiments
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of capital equipment sales process in life science industry 
  • Verbal and written scientific communication
  • Presentation skills 
  • PhD in life sciences 
Desired Skills
  • Built data science algorithms for image analysis
  • Used super resolution microscopy for biological research
  • CRM systems, ideally Salesforce
  • Sample preparation for super-resolution microscopy 
  • At least 2 years in a commercial FAS role with at least 2 year in laboratory and related disciplines preferred.
