Description
A Logistics Specialist I provides logistics, inventory, property, and supply chain support required to sustain Rotary Aircrew Training System (RATS) Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) operations. The Logistics Specialist I is responsible for tracking, managing, reporting, and safeguarding Government Furnished Property (GFP), Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Government Furnished Material (GFM), contractor-acquired property, and all related inventory and material movements. This position supports device availability, maintenance operations, configuration control, and supply activities across training sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all RATS CLS assets, equipment, spares, consumables, and GFP.
- Track, audit, reconcile, and report GFP/GFE/GFM transactions within required Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSR) in accordance with FIAR, DoDI 5000.64, DoDM 4140.01V6, and GFM-A standards.
- Support the Contractor Inventory Control Point (C-ICP) processes including asset management, maintenance activities, supplier management, packaging, handling, storage, shipping, receiving, transportation, and property accountability.
- Manage inventory life cycle including requisition processing, in-transit visibility, disposition, scrap, and repair actions.
- Maintain 100% inventory accuracy by close of business each day using the inventory control system.
- Enter logistics, inventory, and property data into systems such as AFEMS/AIMS, MDC, CSWS DE/D375, WAWF/iRAPT, and GFM-A APSR when required.
- Prepare and submit required GFP/GFE reports, physical inventory reports, forecasting reports, loss/damage reports, and other logistic deliverables in accordance with contract requirements.
- Support audits (Government-led and internal), inventories, quality assurance reviews, FIAR transaction reporting, and transition inventories during ramp-up and ramp-down phases.
- Coordinate packaging, marking, and shipping of materials in accordance with MIL-STD 129, MIL-STD 2073-1, ASTM 3951, DoD 4100.39, and installation cargo movement procedures.
- Track DMSMS issues and identify replacement parts meeting form, fit, and function requirements.
- Support maintenance teams by identifying, sourcing, and delivering required parts, spares, and support equipment.
- Maintain documentation supporting accountability and financial records according to DoD retention requirements.
- Handle and store classified/unclassified material in accordance with applicable security and demilitarization procedures.
- Other duties as identified and assigned.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Relevant experience in logistics, inventory control, supply chain management, material handling, or property accountability within a military or DoD environment preferred.
- Experience with Government property accountability systems, FIAR compliance requirements, or Defense Logistics Management Standards is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with DoD supply systems, GFP/GFE handling, cataloging standards, or logistics reporting processes is preferred.
- Ability to obtain required base and system access credentials (e.g., CAC), complete required Government and site-specific training, and comply with all security and accountability requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Security Responsibilities:
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance if required.
- Must comply with all company and Government Information Systems security policies and procedures.
- May be responsible for proper classification, marking, safeguarding, and controlled access of Government information and materials.
- Shall not divulge any information to individuals without an established need-to-know.
- Must sign and comply with company non-disclosure requirements.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documentation, logistics standards, and property accountability policies. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills: Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret complex requirements, regulations, and instructions. Must be able to calculate quantities, percentages, and basic logistics metrics and interpret graphs or inventory data.
