OVERVIEW:

This is an entry level to early career unlicensed position. Individuals in this position are working towards state licensing as a real estate appraiser. Once the individual becomes proficient, the individual will be able to complete moderately complex real estate appraisals under the supervision of a licensed appraiser. Prepare inspection reports on loans that involve pledged collateral, both new loans and loan servicing. Completes real estate appraisals under delegated authority and/or under supervision of a licensed appraiser. Collaborates with other team members, as well as other Hub Team and Retail Team members from lending, underwriting and operations to ensure high quality, timely and accurate service to customers and/or internal teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist licensed staff in developing real estate appraisals on large complex valuations. This may include gathering data such as a location maps, assessor maps, aerial maps, soils maps, FEMA maps, property profile, legal description, and various other information required to start an appraisal report. Completes appraisals under delegated authority or under the supervision of a licensed appraiser.
  • Collects sales information from a variety of sources. This may include county websites, MLS and realtor websites. Develop relationships with realtors and others in order to obtain documentation and verification of the sales.
  • Researches, verifies and enters sales into the sales database.
  • Will commence and completethe education requirements for real estate appraisal licensing.
  • Assist in locating and plotting area/neighborhood sales information. This will also include compiling data for land value trends and assisting with drafting reports to management.
  • Respond to Association staff or others by providing written and verbal information about appraisal programs and projects.
  • Effectively works with customers and other Association employees. Responds independently to requests for information and assistance.
  • Monitor follow-up requirements in assigned areas.
  • Initiate written and telephone communications to obtain information and related documents.
  • Perform other duties assigned.


LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
Works under general direction and supervision of Appraisal Director.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or other related field is now required for state real estate appraisal licensing.
  • At least one year related experience performing similar functions is desired.
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels; exercise initiative; convey ideas clearly; make sound appraisal decisions.
  • Ability to communicate/coordinate effectively with all levels of management throughout AAC. Ability to work harmoniously with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Moderate travel required as business needs indicate.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work.
  • Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of PC, including e-mail, word processing and electronic spreadsheet software.


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Must have the ability to drive a four-wheel-drive vehicle to inspect rural properties. In the course of conducting inspections, must have the ability to walk mile, navigate steep terrain and/or construction sites and safely cross fences. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Other physical activities may include: Adjusting, balancing, climbing, connecting, crawling, crouching, digging, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, operating, pulling pushing, reaching, reading, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, talking, walking, writing, measuring, physical observation, and driving. Must have a valid Class C driver's license.

PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $52,106.98 - Max $78,160.47 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
