ASHLAND, VIRGINIA -Warehouse Associate
Full-time, hourly position, in the Parts Department. Hours worked are 8:00AM- 5:00PM Monday - Friday, with one hour for lunch unless the Parts Department Manager determines that business needs warrant a different work schedule.
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of shipping and receiving for the Werres Corporation.
Skills and Personal Characteristics of the Warehouse Associate
The Warehouse Associate will:

  • Have the physical stamina to work on concrete floors in a warehouse, which can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
  • Be able to perform the reaching, bending, twisting, stretching, lifting at times up to 50 lbs. or more. (tire press function may require 100+ lbs), and other physical actions required as a basic part of this job.
  • Be detail oriented and be able to work accurately with numbers.
  • Interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers and the rest of the Parts Department team.
Main Tasks of the Warehouse Associate
  • Open and close the UPS and Fed-Ex shipping systems on a daily basis.
  • Receive parts, supplies, warehouse stock and other products from UPS, Fed-Ex, RPS and other shippers.
  • Receive, check in and put into inventory daily as well as weekly stock orders from various manufacturers.
  • Pick and pull purchase orders from the parts department for customers, Werres' shop technicians and Werres' road technicians following the shipping instruction on the purchase order.
  • Double-check other warehouse personnel in order to alleviate pull errors.
  • Pull and assemble parts for Magliner Hand Trucks using specific formulas.
  • Press forklift tires to hubs using mechanical tire press.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean warehouse environment.
  • Participates in annual wall-to-wall and periodic cyclical physical inventory processes.
