Overall Summary

The primary function of this position is to service customers mainly on a domestic level in shipping. The responsibility of the Distribution Associate is to pull, check, pack, and ship finished goods and miscellaneous material on a domestic level. You must gain the knowledge and skills used for processing orders in JD Edwards, RF Applications, Stocking, Carousel Picking, Inventory Integrity, and ability to ship utilizing FedEx, UPS, or any carrier related shipping documents. You will be required to assist in other areas of Distribution as needed.

Your duties will include:

Distribution Associate I

  1. Must follow order directions as indicated in order comments on a pick ticket.
  2. Must ensure orders are picked accurately with item, lot, and quantity as indicated on pick ticket and RF scanner.
  3. Ability to process through carrier application (FedEx, UPS, etc.) utilizing their shipping requirements. Example: Ability to process orders through FedEx computers, UPS computers, and carrier bill of lading.
  4. Work with others to ensure customer needs are being met.
  5. Willingness to be trained by peers for OJT (on job training) needs and process understanding.

Distribution Associate II

  1. Able to process both domestic and international orders.  This includes but is not limited to:  following    specific order instructions, picking and checking orders based upon order type (International/Domestic), packing of product to boxes as required.
  2. Must know proper labeling of shipment for all paperwork received back from International Customer Service. This includes but not limited to:  Proper placement of Airway Bill or Bill of Lading, proper copies of paperwork placed in pouch for carrier/customs purposes and ability to tender to freight carrier completed parcel.
  3. Must be capable of performing sales order maintenance in JD Edwards and can correct quantities, log number and update line status through order maintenance. 

Distribution Associate III

  1. Must know proper completion of international shipments paperwork, for submission back to international customer service, for airbill preparation.  Includes but not limited to:  box dimension, box weight, box numbering, proper checking and boxing of detailed packing list for customs purposes. 
  2. Must know proper labeling of shipment for all paperwork received back from international customer service.  This includes but not limited to: proper placement of shipping label, proper copies of paperwork placed in pouch for carrier/customs purposes and ability to tender to freight carrier completed parcel.  
  3. Must be capable of performing sales order maintenance in JD Edwards and have ability to correct quantities, lot number and update line status through order maintenance. 
  4. Assist in the control of all inventories entering the Distribution Center for finished goods distribution.
  5. Must be capable of completing work orders to inventory and updating hard copy work order as required.
  6. Assist in the receiving of purchased raw materials, finished product from vendors, and supplies delivered to the Distribution Center.
  7. Must be capable of receiving product in JD Edwards and through RF scanner applications. This also requires the printing of quarantine tickets and proper control of products not inspected by quality. 
  8. Assist in the warehousing, storage, and issuance of materials as required.
  9. Assist in the training and development of other associates as needed.

      YOUR EXPERIENCE

      Distribution Associate I: Internal Employees: Prior distribution experience preferred. External Employees: Minimum of 6 months working in a distribution center.

      Distribution Associate II: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a distribution center.   

      Distribution Associate III: Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in MicroPort's distribution center.   

      Visual acuity requirements apply to the role, including peripheral, color, and depth perception.
