We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Kubernetes and modern containerized infrastructure. This role assists with the design, automation, scalability, and security of Kubernetes environments across AWS-while driving infrastructure-as-code excellence and DevSecOps best practices.
What you'll do:
Kubernetes Deployment, Operations, and Reliability
  • Deploy, configure, and manage large, production-grade Kubernetes clusters across complex set of environments
  • Automate and optimize deployments, services, ingress, storage, networking, and RBAC within Kubernetes
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues within Kubernetes and its ecosystem

Containerization & Platform Engineering
  • Deploy and maintain containerized DevSecOps Platform services
  • Implement container best practices including image optimization, security hardening, and registry management
  • Collaborate with development teams to enable seamless, scalable production deployment of containerized workloads

Infrastructure as Code & Automation
  • Develop and maintain Terraform for AWS resources (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Build and maintain Ansible automation for configuration management and environment consistency

CI/CD Enablement
  • Build and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, testing, and security workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement in reliability, automation, security, and operational efficiency

Authentication & Security
  • Configure and maintain Keycloak for identity, access management, and SSO integrations
  • Implement and maintain security and compliance controls, especially in regulated environments

Observability & Monitoring
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, etc.)
  • Assist in design and implementation of scalable monitoring infrastructure components across infrastructure

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Advise on platform architecture and containerization strategies
  • Mentor junior engineers in Kubernetes, containers, and automation practices

What you'll need:
  • 5+ years of experience with:
    • DevOps or infrastructure engineering
    • Kubernetes (including deployments, services, ingress, storage and/or RBAC)
    • AWS (including EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and/or CloudWatch)
    • Container technology (Docker, Podman, or containerd)
    • Troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience with:
    • IAM (policies, roles, & service accounts)
    • Keycloak administration
    • Terraform and Ansible automation
    • GitLab CI/CD pipeline development
    • Networking fundamentals and service mesh familiarity
    • Government/compliance frameworks (800-53/800-171)
    • Scripting (Bash, Python)
    • Helm, GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8140 qualified certification (expected within 90 days of hire)

Bonus Points if you have:
  • Experience with:
    • Platform One BigBang
    • Istio or other service meshes
    • Vulnerability management and security scanning tools
    • Prometheus/Grafana/Loki stacks
  • Recommended Certifications:
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
    • AWS Certification: Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security certifications

Clearance:
Must have an active TS/SCI level government clearance
