What is a fashion designer?

Fashion Designers are professionals who create original clothing, accessories, and footwear. They sketch designs, select fabrics and patterns, and oversee the production of their creations. Fashion Designers often work for apparel companies, design houses, or may run their own labels. Their work involves staying up-to-date with current fashion trends, forecasting future styles, and ensuring their designs are both functional and aesthetically appealing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fashion designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fashion Designer, you need a strong background in design principles, garment construction, and trend analysis, typically supported by a degree in fashion design or a related field. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator, CAD programs, and pattern-making tools is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills set outstanding designers apart. These skills and qualities are crucial for creating innovative, market-ready collections that meet client and industry expectations.

What are some common challenges fashion designers face when working on new collections?

Fashion Designers often encounter challenges such as balancing creative vision with commercial viability, meeting tight production deadlines, and staying ahead of rapidly changing trends. Collaborating with production teams, sourcing materials, and adapting designs to fit budget constraints are also frequent hurdles. Successfully navigating these challenges requires strong communication, adaptability, and awareness of both market demands and technical limitations.

Job description

On-Camera Live Sales Host – Fashion & Designer Auctions
FavoliStyle | Apex, NC | In-Studio
Full-Time or Part-Time | Paid Training | Performance Bonuses

FavoliStyle is hiring on-camera live sales hosts to run fast-paced live shopping shows featuring fashion, shoes, handbags, and designer inventory.

This is a great fit for someone who is outgoing, confident speaking on camera, interested in fashion, and motivated by sales performance. You do not need previous live-selling experience — we will train the right person — but you must be comfortable being on camera and able to keep a live audience engaged.

What You’ll Do

  • Host live shopping shows from our Apex studio
  • Present clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories
  • Engage with viewers and answer live chat questions
  • Create excitement and urgency during live auctions
  • Help prepare inventory before shows
  • Stay organized while managing multiple items and live interaction

Who We’re Looking For

  • Comfortable and confident on camera
  • Friendly, energetic, and able to speak clearly
  • Interested in fashion, brands, styling, or shopping
  • Sales-minded and motivated by performance bonuses
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts consistently
  • Comfortable learning basic streaming tools, live chat, apps, and Windows PC systems
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs during inventory prep and show setup
  • Reliable transportation to Apex, NC

Important
This is not a modeling job, try-on-only role, or influencer position. This is a live sales role where communication, energy, reliability, and results matter.

Available Schedule Options
We are hiring for one or more consistent weekly schedules. Applicants do not need to be available for every shift, but must be reliable for the schedule they accept.

Possible shift windows include:

  • Early Morning: approximately 3:30 AM – 10:00 AM
  • Daytime: approximately 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Afternoon/Evening: approximately 4:00 PM – Midnight
  • Overnight: approximately 9:00 PM – 4:00 AM

Full-time and part-time schedules may be available. Additional hours may be offered based on performance, reliability, and business needs.

Pay

  • Training starts at $18/hour
  • Certified hosts earn $22/hour after training
  • Performance bonus opportunities available for strong sellers
  • Top performers may earn significantly more based on schedule, sales performance, and consistency

Benefits and Perks

  • Paid training
  • Employee discount on designer inventory
  • Performance bonus opportunities
  • Opportunity for advancement
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • High-growth live shopping environment

Work Location
In person at our Apex, NC studio near I-540.

If you are outgoing, reliable, comfortable on camera, and excited by live selling, we’d love to hear from you.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance

Work Location: In person
